KUALA LUMPUR: Eversendai Corporation Bhd foresees better prospects in the second half of 2022 (2H2022) as the group is confident that it would be able to secure more contracts, given its strong team, well-positioned resources and long-term experience and expertise in the construction industry.
Group managing director Tan Sri A K Nathan said the combination should enable the group to stay resilient against further external shocks and overcome any obstacles, forging ahead to continue delivering value to all its stakeholders.
"As the group moves into the next phase of recovery and rebuilding, we will concentrate on reshaping the group with a renewed focus on our core fundamental values in geographical regions where we have been traditionally strong to seize the various emerging opportunities,” he said a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.,
In the last few months, Eversendai has secured over RM1.6 billion worth of new contracts in its main markets, namely the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sri Lanka, India, Singapore and Malaysia.
The group’s construction order book stands at RM2.13 billion as of June 2022 and is expected to grow further in the coming months, he said.
The newly secured contracts include notable projects such as a museum project in Abu Dhabi, the King Salman Park-Loop Bridges Project in Saudi Arabia, the Cultural Center Education City in Qatar, the Bandaranaike International Airport Development Project, Sri Lanka (funded by the Japanese government), the Keppel Tower and the Labrador Projects in Singapore and the SK Nexilis project in Sabah, Malaysia. - Bernama
